The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) was established in February 2017 to ensure quality education at the tertiary level. Initially launched as a two-year project (2017-2018) with financial assistance from the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), and the World Bank, IQAC has since become a permanent part of UITS.
Its primary mission is to support and promote quality teaching, learning, and research that directly impacts the quality of graduates. From the outset, IQAC has prioritized familiarizing stakeholders with Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The curriculum is designed to go beyond technical expertise, incorporating broader values such as tolerance, diversity, sustainability, and environmental responsibility, ensuring that UITS graduates are not only skilled professionals but also ethically aware individuals.
In addition to its focus on curriculum, IQAC fosters a culture of continuous improvement by regularly monitoring academic programs, conducting internal audits, and organizing faculty development programs. By adhering to the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) Standards for Accreditation of Academic Programs, IQAC ensures that UITS meets the expectations for quality education and enhances the confidence of all stakeholders.
IQAC adheres to the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) standards to ensure excellence.
"Through these efforts, IQAC is positioning UITS as a leading institution in Bangladesh, dedicated to producing graduates equipped to succeed in a dynamic and competitive world."
